We get together online every couple of weeks to talk over new ideas, discuss how our current programs are doing, and to generally help each other along. My name is Phil Horsepool, and until August 2003 I was the owner of an IT business on the small island of Guernsey, 70 odd miles south of the UK in the Bay of St Malo. I was also developing my Internet business, from a standing start in 1999, to the point where I was ready to give up a full time job. You really must work towards that feeling, it's unbelievable! In August 2003 me, my partner Sue, and her 3 children packed up, got in the car and drove down through France until we reached Southern Spain.
We had already purchased a holiday apartment down here in 2002, but decided that the Spanish climate and the lifestyle was better for our health so made the permanent move. Now I work the Internet, do a bit of web design and, just to keep in
touch with the real world, look after around a dozen vacation apartments
near where we live. And the clincher? I haven't worn a wristwatch since I entered Spain! Time really is not that important when you don't have to run a traditional business or answer to a boss!
